New feelings and new colors, ‘Blue Bagel’

Our music generally have pastel tone colors, and our male members pursue BAGEL type girl as their ideal female(BAGEL girl: A short term for baby face and glamorous body). Also, the word ‘bagel’ easily sticks well to our mouth, so we chose it to our team name. Our strength is that we present new colors through our music as we pursue many different genres.

Q. Please introduce the team and team members briefly.

Hello, we are ‘Blue Bagel’! We have 6 members in our team; Ji-sang Moon(Midi composer), Jeong-su Kim(rapper), Yoo-jin Jeong(Drum), Hye-mi Shin(Piano), Tae-hoon Kwon(Base), and Ju-young Park(Leader). We pursue the music mostly based on hip-hop, and covers various genre. Whenever we are composing music, we openly share feedbacks and reconcile ideas.

Q. Is there any special means for team name ‘Blue Bagel’?

Q. What is the attractive point of that only ‘Blue Bagel’ has?

Our strength is that we present new colors through our music as we pursue many different genres.

Q. Do you have artists those influenced you the most?

Ji-sang Moon: Flying Lotus.

Yoo-jin Jeong: Famous composer ‘Hans Zimmer’ who mostly works for movies ost.

Joo-young Park(Leader): ‘Beyonce’ influenced me in terms of performance.

Q. Is there any special music colors you pursue of?

Jeong-su Kim: I would like to copy all of music colors of my beloved artists.

Yoo-jin Jeong: Fusion Korean Classical Music! I would like hold world tour concerts with dramatic fusion Korean musics just as like Hans Zimmer’s music!

Hye-mi Shin: Originally, our members gathered up to do ‘Jazz-hip hop’ music. The genre ‘Jazz’ itself can be difficult to public audience, so we are trying to unite it with ‘hip-hop’, which is more popular to the public, to make it more understandable to listeners.

Tae-hoon Kwon: Music that I am happy for Joo-young Park(Leader): R&B Hip-hop. I think it is okay to not have rap part. I would like to do music that implicates various moods.

Q. Is there any jinx or lucky sign of the team?

We don’t say ‘sorry’ to each other. At the beginning, members changed often when the team was actually gathered; they usually said ‘I’m sorry but…’ and then left. So the word ‘Sorry’ is forbidden for our team.

Q. How do you compose the song?

Normally, the midi composer and the pianist give members music sketches, and we try to make music out of that. After, we adjust the music by going through ensemble. We try various ways to find the best music for the team.

Q. Do you have romantic dream as artists?

Our team wants to join a good agency that fits with our team, and hold many concerts for public audience.

Q. Do you have future plan?

We are preparing single or mini album. Our goal is to release them in the next summer. As I mentioned previously, we are planning to go to the right agency for our team.
